How do I keep my information safe?

Quick answer

Create a password-protected encrypted backup in Settings and keep it somewhere safe, separate from your main records. Keep the password securely: you will need it to restore the backup. For Self-server, you or your IT provider also arrange server backup and recovery.

Step by step

  1. Open the backup option in Settings.
  2. Create a fresh password-protected backup and store it somewhere safe, separate from your main records.
  3. Never email an unprotected backup or share it through an unsecured service.
  4. Test that the backup can be restored before relying on it.

Button names can vary slightly by installed version. If something looks different, check the version shown in Sumvra before making a change.
